PHATport – Solar Canopy and Carport

What is a PHATport?

The PHATport™ is a line of residential and small commercial solar carports, solar patios and other secondary solar structures, currently designed exclusively for the SunPower line of top efficiency panels.  All of our PHATport structures use our deck system, with integrated wire-hiding channels and full canopy exposure, so that the underside of your structure will not look like a power-plant, but a lovely canopy of patterned and filtered light. We have two models:

1. the PHATport™ 200 , a long-span structure that uses standardized proprietary connections, but is custom configured according to customer needs.  The 200 can accommodate numerous internal AC circuits because of the wide support beams. It has the look of large wood members but is built out of steel and concrete sheeting.  It is fire-proof and easy maintenance, while offering a significant architectural signature; it’s perfect for estates and high-end commercial environments.
2. the PHATport™ 300 , an all steel line of pre-designed structures with pre-set maximum spans as specified below.  The various configurations of the 300 line allow for an attachment to a house, a stand alone garden structure, of a commercial multi-bay commercial carport.  Awnings and small structures like bus stops are pre-configured as well, though not exhibited here.

The head-turning stand-alone solar energy structure is designed for fast assembly at the location by re-thinking the way the racking and solar panels, known as the “deck”, are delivered to the location. Pre-designed and delivered ready to assemble, the PHATport™ deck is secured to a supporting frame. The PHATport™ 350, like the rest of PHAT Energy’s PHATport™ line, is currently built for the larger of the Sunpower line of panels.  They allow for 10% of light to penetrate, providing cool shade in full sun.

A PHATport™ 350 with 12 or 18 panels, for example,  can be erected by a qualified contractor in approximately 1/2 of the time it takes to construct a traditional equivalent structure. The 350 will be capable of supporting between 2.8 and 5.8 kW of power depending on the SunPower panels. In any of those configuration, it is more than what is needed to fuel an electric car, or make a significant difference in the power needs of a typical home. The PHATport™ 350 can be customized with lights, electrical outlets, EV Chargers, and column design options.

PHATport™ 200 (patent pending)

The PHATport 200 is the ultimate design in architecturally striking solar structures. It will grace any residential or small commercial open space. It is designed to be used as a covered solar patio or solar carport, and it hides its power generation role so well as to charm the visitors who stroll underneath it. Modern yet elegant, it can be built as a lean-to or as a free standing structure. Very adaptable in architectural style, it can add a whole new angle to your backyard, one in which function and form are one. The PHATport™ 200 is built around a steel frame that makes up the structural strength of the piece. All wires are hidden, giving visitors the impression of standing under stained glass. As a solar carport, it can be configured as a one or two car structure, and can also be configured for multiple side by side solar carports. This structure can span 24 feet wide.
