What is a PHATport?

The PHATport^TM  from PHAT Energy is a line of residential and small commercial solar carports, solar patios and other secondary solar structures, currently designed exclusively for the Sanyo Double bi-facial solar panel and for the SunPower line of top efficiency panels.  We have two models, the PHATport^TM 200 and the  PHATport^TM 350.  Interested in a PHATport?  Contact us or request a call.

The head-turning stand-alone solar energy structure is designed for fast assembly at the location by re-thinking the way the racking and solar panels, known as the “deck”, are delivered to the location. Pre-designed and delivered ready to assemble, the PHATport™ 350 deck is secured to a supporting frame.   The PHATport™ 350, like the rest of PHAT Energy’s PHATport™   line, is built for the unique Sanyo translucent panel which allows 15% of light to penetrate, providing cool shade in full sun. A PHATport™ 350 12-panel design can be erected by a qualified contractor in approximately 1/2 of the time it takes to construct a traditional equivalent structure. The 350 will be capable of supporting a 2.5 kW solar array (accounting for underside production if using Sanyo's), or between 2.8 and 5.8 kW of power if opting for the SunPower panels.  In any of those configuration, it is more than what is needed to fuel an electric car, or make a significant difference in the power needs of a typical home. The PHATport™ 350 can be customized with lights, electrical outlets, EV Chargers, and column design options.

The PHATport 200 is the ultimate design in architecturally striking solar structures.  It will grace any residential or small commercial open space.  It is designed to be used as a covered solar patio or solar carport , and it hides its power generation role so well as to charm the visitors who stroll underneath it.  Modern yet elegant, it can be built as a lean-to or as a free standing structure.  Very adaptable in architectural style, it can add a whole new angle to your backyard, one in which function and form are one.   What a better place than your own outdoor space to celebrate environmental responsibility with financially rewarding design!

The PHATPORT^TM 200 is built around a steel frame that makes up the structural strength of the piece.  All wires are hidden, giving visitors the impression of standing under stained glass.  As a solar carport, it can be configured as a one or two car structure, and can also be configured for multiple side by side solar carports.  This structure can span 24 feet wide.

What really makes the PHATPORT^TM 200 amazing is the panel.   Benefiting from our proprietary construction process, the Phatport 200 is built around the physical specifications of Sanyo electronic's bi-facial, translucent and highly efficient HIT Double; in turn, the electronics giant features the PHATPORT^TM 200 on its main marketing pieces for that panel.  It uses the most efficient panel on the residential market today-- the Sanyo 200 Bi-facial.  When light from the sun hits the panel, it starts producing energy like most solar panels do, from the top surface.  But it also lets some light through, and then recycles it from the bottom side of the panel, adding another 15 to 20% to the CEC-rated production.    The result?  Green energy that returns every penny of your investment from a striking outdoor structure.

The PHATPORT^TM 200 is installed with a proprietary metal cladding which minimizes moisture  penetration underneath the panels to the structure itself.  That feature also creates a rain-resistant environment underneath the structure.
