Phat Energy designs solar installations which either generate grid-tied energy, or generate energy for an application specific product, like a pump. We are particularly interested in high efficiency solutions, and in designing environments that make solar an integral part of an environment. Phat Energy is both a C-10 and B California contractor, licensed, bonded, insured.
We have expertise in approaching solar system design from two different objectives :
1- Sizing on a financial basis. By using our "Run The Numbers" modeling tools, residential customers will get a very accurate picture of how to size a solar system for positive cash flow . But we can also produce those for you almost instantly, and email them to you as website links. If you are considering solar electric power, we start by asking you the name of your utility. That allows us to pull down exactly how much you pay for electricity at different times of the year and for different tiers. Our objective is to find the system which will provide the customer the fastest pay-back on a cash flow basis, based very specifically on the customer's current energy utility, rates and consumption. From that we determine the customer's appetite or desire for a larger system and document the impact of any size increase on the financial model.
2- Design for visual and life-style impact. We are effective and passionate about taking solar off the roof and creating spaces where panels and coatings can do triple duty as shelter, architectural pieces and power generators, in other words, creating a highly functional environment. We like to experiment with panels, collectors and systems, so that an empty space can become a special point of reference, a unique structure or a gathering point.
Business customers, we will provide the same proprietary PHAT Energy modeling results, but because rate issues are much more complicated in that sector, we produce the models manually for you, based on your rates, Consumption and Demand numbers. However, our proprietary structural designs apply to commercial structures, parking lot environments and other site-specific applications just as well as our residential solutions do for that market.
PHAT Energy supports the educational sector. We do this in two ways: we offer the PHAT Energy Grant for high schools in both the private and public sectors, and provide turn-key system kits for the educational sector. For information about either of those programs, please contact us directly.
Our operations team consists of NAPCEP-certified professionals. PHAT Energy can field prevailing wage union crews if necessary, depending on the project. We approach our business with union and non-union teams to serve the needs of our customers.
