PHAT ENERGY -- How We Work

Phat Energy sells products which either generate grid-tied energy, or gererate energy for an application specific product, like solar attic fans. We are also among the few companies in the state to have in-house specialists in solar water heating, both for your home or commercial buidling water usage, and for pools.

We approach solar system sizing on a financial basis. That's why you'll find a "Run The Numbers" section on our Residential page. If you are considering solar electric power, we start by asking you the name of your utility. That allows us to pull down exactly how much you pay for electricity at different times of the year and for different tiers. Our objective is to find the system which will provide the customer the fastest pay-back on a cash flow basis, based very specifically on the customer's current energy utility, rates and consumption. From that we determine the customer's appetite or desire for a larger system and document the impact of any size increase on the financial model.

Business customers, we will provide the same proprietary Phat Energy modelling tools, but because rates issues are much more complicated in that sector, we produce the models manually for you, based on your rates, Consumption and Demand numbers.

Our engineering is done by NAPCEP-certified professionals and our installations can be done by IBEW crews; the choice is yours. We approach the business this way because it allows us to include among our installers the most qualified pool of electricians in the world, the people who essentially built the greatest part of California's electric infrastructure, and put them to work for you. This model allows your installation to take place as soon as you are ready, without having to wait in line for weeks and months for our in-house crews to get to you. In that process, we maintain Phat Energy service standards while giving you world-class installation expertise.
