PHAT SYSTEM -- Business -- Custom Systems

In the consideration of renewable energy production, we invite our business customer to consider our solar or wind solutions as hybrid systems. Currently in business energy rates, the challenge is to overcoming the "Demand" charge: that's the tariff which utilities charge for each month's Peak sudden demand which a company might make on the grid for their momentary power need. Whatever that number is become what the company pays for the entire month, and it is very difficult to predict. If it comes after the peak hours of solar activity, then a solar system investment will not pay off for that month. That's why sizing a solar system for a business applicaiton require very careful analyses of past Demand charges. Often, a business system does well being augmented by a wind energy generator, to even out the evening and nighttime production.

Phat Energy offers pre-configured solar systems in increments of 5 and 10 kW 3-phase systems, which can be linked in any combination. Generally, the installation of such systems on business structures is done with ballasted systems, allowing a semi-permanent deployment of the array without perforations into the roof. But we can accomodate any type of roof. We also offer wind systems for peak productions of 3 to 10 kW.

Phat Energy can also configures systems to fit into unusual space constraints, roof pitches or architectural features. These systems are usually no less productive than our pre-configured systems, so long as their exposure to the sun is unincumbered.

One of the most exciting new designs which we are developing is the solar car port, using a bi-facial state-of-the-art panels which use light both from their direct exposure and from the gound-bounced light underneath. We also generate photovoltaic activity from structures like patio covers, building facades, and awnings.
